Every July, the quiet streets of Pamplona explode into a vibrant celebration of tradition, passion, and adrenaline during San Fermín. Those who journey with us discover a side of the festival few ever witness.

From the moment dawn breaks, you’ll be swept into the city’s pulsating energy, waking to the sound of brass bands echoing through the streets.

With a local insider leading the way, you’ll watch the adrenaline-charged encierro from the comfort and safety of a private balcony, front-row to one of Spain’s most iconic spectacles.

You’ll taste Pamplona’s sweetest secret, a visit to a historic churro shop that opens its doors just once a year. The experience continues with rare access to an invitation-only society ball, where locals dressed in white and red dance into the early hours in a tradition passed down through generations.

The week overflows with parades, fireworks, folk dances, and intimate cultural rituals that go far beyond what tourists typically see. With The Real Thing, San Fermín becomes not just a festival, but an immersive, emotional journey through history, community, and celebration.

Who we are

We are a small but strong team led by Marta Muñoz Recarte and Glòria Pou. Both of us had long-standing careers in the art world until 2013, when our passion for travel led us to create THE REAL THING.

We are based in Madrid and Barcelona, where we design and oversee your journeys. We have a close-knit network of choice collaborators that make us the really top DMC we are. They include hoteliers with class, tour guides with cachet and chauffeurs with an eye for detail and impeccable timing; people who hold the keys to historic and unique buildings, art curators, cultural ambassadors and personal shoppers; contacts at the trendiest restaurants and bars of our cities, musicians, DJs, flamenco dancers, chefs, sommeliers, bartenders… Farmers and winegrowers, ceramicists, cheesemakers, sports instructors, massage therapists, fishermen, percebeiras (goose barnacle hunters), sailboat captains, jugglers, magicians… Want to meet them?
